Residents can play baseball at the 200 East Park; have your kids explore the playground at Bicentennial Park. Central Park Plaza, is the Center piece of Downtown Valparaiso and has taken on a restoration having been reopened this past summer of 2011.
Listen to music here at its outdoor Amphitheater. Kids can also play on the Splash pad in the center of the park.
Fairgrounds Park has ball diamonds and soccer fields 'Take up a league for more competitive play here at Fairgrounds Park Fairmont Park is a popular destination for walks around the concrete walkway.
Foundation Meadows, Glenrose South, Jessee-Pifer Park, Kirchhoff Miller Woods, are also really nice parks in Valparaiso.

Valparaiso Parks have formal gardens, Gazebos for weddings, a Japanese garden including a huge Koi pond, Open grassy areas, picnic areas and more.  If you're looking for swimming, fishing, and hiking trails, then try Rogers-Lakewood Park. Take to the bike trail for some exercise.  Shoot some basketball or try baseball, tennis, picnicking and a playground Tower Park. During winter months, one of the basketball courts is turned into the community skating rink.
